Campus Ambassador Program

Are you passionate about social justice? Outgoing and well-connected at your school? Eager to take your leadership skills to the next level?

Become a Changemaker Campus Ambassador! You'll gain the skills to build and lead a club of changemakers at your school and empower your peers to #bethechange they wish to see!

ABOUT

The Changemaker Project is a nonprofit program that helps youth (ages 13-24) tackle social justice issues in their communities. Our program can be used in an after-school club or a class curriculum. Our online course teaches youth about social and environmental issues, and helps students to create innovative solutions using Stanford's Design Thinking process. We also pair teams with mentors as they implement their projects. Teams can pitch to win funding at our annual Global Pitch event, and final projects have a chance to be featured in our Changemaker Showcase event at the end of the school year.

This Fall, we are piloting a Campus Ambassador Program, to help us grow and expand to new schools and experiment with a student-led club model. We're looking for outgoing young leaders to launch and facilitate Changemaker Project clubs at their schools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Attend a training session (Sept. 5th, 2021) and monthly support calls (2021-2022 school year) with other ambassadors. You'll gain valuable leadership training and make friends with other ambassadors from around the world!

  2. Promote the program at your school using your own creative strategy to recruit at least 20-30 students to join The Changemaker Project. (Don't worry, we'll provide you with tips and ideas! You choose what works best for your school.)

  3. Facilitate weekly club meetings throughout the school year (2021-2022)-- teaching students about social justice issues using our online curriculum content and helping them to develop and implement their own innovative solutions.

 â€‹

The Campus Ambassador Role begins in Sept. 2021 where you'll receive training, recruit a faculty advisor, and begin recruitment at your school. The ambassador commitment is about 2 hours/week.

SUPPORT

We'll provide toolkits and guidelines to support you in presenting The Changemaker Project to students at your school, but we also value your creativity and innovation in order to figure out what recruitment strategy works best for your campus.

In addition to training and resources, our monthly ambassador calls are a great way to meet other changemakers from around the world and gain new ideas and strategies that you can apply to your club.

Campus Ambassadors who successfully complete their year of service will receive a certificate and a letter of recommendation from The Changemaker Project.
